Hey,
Unfortunately the Panther Chameleon I wanted has gone from the shop now

But they've just got a new 2-horned Cham in instead. Does anyone know any specifics on this type?
Also Alex if you could, what do you need for the Cham viv? I.e Heating etc.
Cheers all

How much would that come to?
The Cham's £90, and I'd need the uva bulb and the red light. Probably a bigger viv aswell I reckon!

was lookin at the 2 horned the other day,, very nice too
all ive got mate is the heat mat, and a big all in one heat and uv light
mines only in a smallish viv so having the one light/heat source is fine for now
and it keeps the temp at around 82-84 , with a basking spot around 100
look here for some info
http://www.chameleonnews.com/montium.htmlgo get it before it sells
Nice one cheers guys. I might just buy the viv etc tommorow, then reserve him for when i get paid again.
I had my heart set on the panther, but this one is £100 cheaper and looks alot cooler! I'll update tommorow!
Cheers again
Ash
Well everyone I got him

He's a playful little bugger! Wouldn't get off me to get in his viv! I'll take some snaps later when he's settled a bit

Definately looking forward to the pics after hearing about him yesterday mate, sounds like a cool little fella
John B
lets see it then
Here's some

Also one quick Q, what do I do with the lights when its bedtime? Do I turn them both off? I have the UV light and the basking light!
Cheers
Ash

coooooool
if they have the same requirements as a "veiled" cham then,
turn everything but the heat mat off,
they can handle quite a drop in temp at night,
mine doesnt drop that much but the heat mat stops it getting too cold

Thats hella cool man, great pick-up
John B
Cheers guys!
And cheers Alex for the info.
He seems to spend alot of time on the ground, and occasionally climbs then comes down again. Is this a sign the lamp is too hot for him?
Cheers

He's either looking for food or he wants to be outside of his tank.

Wow! What a cool looking chameleon! How big do those critters grow?
I think these dudes grow to about 9". I'll be getting a bigger vivarium for him probably next month!
I just bought him a new bendy branch thing and a sweet little waterfall

Cheers
Ash
very nice mate
is he/she eating yet?
Nope, not that I know of. Got a waxworm in there now (bought a small feeding bowl which it can't get out of) so see if he eats that or not

Cheers mate

She's pretty nice-lookin mate, can see why he likes her lol

One post now I dont want to make,
He died
I have no idea why or how. He ate yesterday, he came out on my hand and he was acting fine. I went to the same pet shop today to get a vivarium, and my friend reserved another chameleon today. Came back and he on the floor

There must have been something wrong with him before I got him. I sprayed him twice a day, like I said he ate everyday (twice sometimes).

Luckily he's under a 'guarantee' so I'm going back tommorow.
Ash
sh*t man thats harsh
any external signs of illness?

So sorry for your loss mate, he seemed like quite the character from what you told me on msn....best of luck with the new one...

mate
John B
Not at all =/
Thats what I don't get. Must have been sold to me with problems, something internal.
Really sucks!
Cheers guys
Ash
Yeah. Seeing as I got a new vivarium means another Chameleon I reckon. I held a large male Veiled Chameleon today. Very friendly, he seems pretty cool!
Ash
cool man
veilds are nice and easy mate, ive had no problems with mine
males are more colourful too i believe
Yeah he seemed like a very cool dude! Here he is last week... Right at the glass trying to get out!
Just a shame about my little dude, such a cool creature.
Ash
yeah mate sucks losing him so soon
that male veild looks about the same size as my female
we should get them together and let them get jiggy
theres a fair few quid in the babies
How big is yours? This guy is rather large, about 9 inches just his body. Bigger than my hand!
I think I might have to get him, its either that or a small (4") baby Yemen?
And the breeding idea would be cool

Ash
my girls about 6" now (just the body)
....and you know yemens are the same as veilds right??
Are they? I thought they were 2 different species

Ash
no mate, there the same ,
Yemen is where they are found,
and the veiled bit refers to the thing on the head
just common names i guess
Ah ok cool.
So I've got the choice of a baby or a adult...
I'll see which one seems the most friendly I guess!
Ash
Properly set up the new viv now. Bought a fogger today to help me with the humidity, alot better. I'll get some pictures tommorow!
Ash
Just got back from the shop, with my new Cham

The guy at the store said the vets coming in later and he's going to ring me to let me know what happened with my old one.
The new Cham is very cool, quite big but quite friendly aswell. He wouldn't get straight in his new home lol, took him a while to get off my hand!
I'll get some pictures later, let him settle in a bit.
Ash
nice one ash
look forward to the pics
I'll probably leave getting pictures until tommorow, as he looks very stressed fomr the move/ new home etc. Very dark in colour!
