Can you use garden moss in a fish tank? Because I have a coconut split in half in my tank and I thought it would look cool if I put some moss on the top. I was thinking of raking my grass to get some moss then leave it to boil for 30 mins then silicone it to the coconut.

Thats something i would not do.
Go the your lfs and get some java moss it's very cheap and will grow naturally, getting anything from the garden is not a good idea as you never know what has been used on it... and i think boiling it will turn it into mush.
