Little Miss Piranha
Hi this is tony just started on a new diet. Prawns from our p's!
Tony is quite a pushy plec and head butts the 5 p's,
now after they eat he goes over and eats their food.
Just a bit worried that he is to brave!Click to view attachment

I had a Plec in with my 5 RBP's for two years then suddenly one dayt BANG they tore him to shreds.
You may well get away with it for a short time but one day it will end in grief for Tony.

I've got 2 Plecos in with my Caribe, and they haven't had it... yet. Before that they were with reds for 5 months.

As I said before mine was in with 5 reds for 2 years, others will last for a few weeks before they become Piranha food.
If you think you can get away with it you can but how long for?
There will be only one outcome it just how long before it happens thats not defined.
Don't want to sound like a prophet of doom I'm just sharing my personal experience and that of 100's of others over the various forums.

I'm not haha.

But my Pleco was my first fish, the only thing that happened to him was he had his eat bitten by my first piranha, a gold Mac.

He's 11", and the fish haven't been as big as him, so he doesn't tank any sh*t from them!

Plec's have a very strong Armour that helps them defend from the teeth of piranha,

But they also have a very soft belly it's just a thin skin, at some point one p will attack him and and as he swims to get away the others could get him from underneath and that would be the end of poor Tony,

As the guy's have said it's only a matter of time, but you can do things to help him, like caves only big enough for him to get into, bog wood your should have as he needs it for digestion, and have plants then he always has a place to hide and get away from the teeth.

I-Agree.gif I would take Pauls advice. If you are going to leave him in there, give him as many places to hide as possible. That way you can limit the amount of time he is picked on. This will hopefully give him a good chance to grow old good.gif

Thanks All,
Dont think there is much of a problem now as Tony dont take any s**t,
But nickin there food may change their minds!
At the moment the P's seem to be scared of him, but dont think that can last...

My plec is the same. ATM he's 3 times the size of the RBP's and he'll atively chase them away from food. He's plenty of places to hide and the P's are very wary of him at this stage. I would move him in 6 months or so but I have no room for a second tank sad.gif
