I see the angling section is quiet, well what are your plans this year?

I did wonder about setting up a PB thread with photos and maybe a story behind the capture?

My plans for carping this year is to join a hard to get in syndicate, do a few nights on a river, catch a carp out of an 'unfished quiet pit' and to go out catch a few carp and enjoy myself without fising all out big fish on some of the big hard pits

Weathers warming up and nights are drawing out, spring is on its way!

No carping for me again this year, 4th year running, since moving to somerset i sort of gave up, the lakes here are not to good. I used to live on the kent/east sussex border and had many good lakes within 30 mins drive, the british record (twotone) lived just 20 mins away, used to do 48hrs every week for about 5 years.
Have now sold some of my gear but still have my end tackle and bits and pieces that i would never sell.
I will get back out one day.

Old conningrook! As if you ave given it up, there is some cracking fish and waters in kent & essex!

Do you do any other fishing now you have moved?
Riff
No, im carp only, and cats if they pick up my baits, had a 28lb cat on a pop up. I went once since moving, local lake about an hour away, did 1 night, 1 run, 22lb mirror, next day a few turned up to fish, we got talking and then found out that was the biggest fish that had been caught there for near on 2 years, never went back.
There were two lakes at conningbrook but they built a channel and joined them, never fished it, i knew a couple of lads that did.

had my first weekend fishing last week, didnt expect much as its really deep and the water is still 2 degrees.

sent my delkims off yesterday as had a slight prob with sensitivy setting, once there back il be in full swing!!

was filed testing a bait last year and was only getting 50% off but this year have a full bait sponsorship.
60 kilo a month free at the moment so will be baiting pretty heavy at my local water.couple of fish i still want in there, also want the koi,its 17lb but really long .

went to the 5 lakes show the other week to get me motivated and buy even more tackle lol.

goals this year i want a pb mirror and common, pb mirror for me is 24lb 8 so looking hopeull but my common is 30lb 8 so thats a little harder. dont really fish on big carp waters so have my work set out,the place i fish only has 2 mirrors over 20lb........20lb and 25lb and 1 common to beat my pb so got my work cut out, fishd here last year for the 2 fish with no luck and done 121 nights !!

Were you fishing dave if you don't mind me asking, PM me if you dont want to publish it. I went to explore a small unfished pit today, had a marker about and plan to get some nights in the spring, we have to arrive late and get off very early as your not aload on the land let alone to fish it :-)

Gonna try a local fishery called Redwell nr Lancaster, it has Caravan pitches!.. plan to do a bit of that this year, caravan sites with fishing that is!...

Never fished it before but look's okay, carp up to late twenty's with plenty of doubles, tend to stick to the local commercials, theres some good waters round here!... I use my margin poles quite a lot so tend to target fish in the 5 to 15 lb mark!

What sort of fishin do you do?

I have fish all sorts of waters over the years, from 164 acres very low stock pits to small estate lakes, got myself on a no publicity syndicate this year with fish to mid 40's

I plan to do 2 - 3 over nighters a week this spring to see if i can winkle one or two lumps out
