I would quite like to have a carpet of this stuff covering a lot of the bottom of the tank, with an area kept clear. Would this suit P's or not?

Hair grass looks great but won't stand a lot of disturbance. 25 plants won't cover a vast area, perhaps 3 square inches, but under the right conditions multiplies very quickly.
