if your talking about getting a RTC then you'll need a HUGE tank, with HUGE filters
... they eat alot and grow very big , very fast.... 3-4ft is easily achievable with these badboys

Plus if you thought Plecs crap a lot, you should see the size of the RTC's crap! Absolutlely massive. The Asian Red Tail ate some of it thnking it was pellets! sick.gif

My mate got it from a bloke that advertises on Aquarist Classifieds. He and his mate travel anywhere to pick up big tanks. He will even deliver to you for a small price.
If you want to buy new then there is a pinned topic in the tank & equipment section right at the top, custom sized tanks. There lists a few manufacturer's that will give discount to forum members. ND Aquatics tanks are really nice and a few members have them with no problems at all.

Very old thread I know but I've just seen a red tailed catfish for 40 and 5 inch long.just wondering on growth rate for these fella's and what sort of tank size would be needed?cheers
